Teaching and Learning The course will be delivered in a variety of learning situations, lectures, one-to-one tuition, tutorials and workshops with a focus on independent learning development. You will utilise the College’s latest learning resources, these will include access to online journals, contemporary business software and the latest business periodicals. Developing practical business skills and the entrepreneurial mindset is at the core of our courses and the College’s enterprise society, Evolve, works closely with students to achieve this via mentoring, support and guidance. Assessment Assessment is by a combination of final and continuous assessments which are set by the University of Portsmouth. These are work -based and are designed to build on the latest business theories. Industry Links Our department has strong links with a number of local businesses.
Progression This course provides the opportunity for direct entry on to the third and final year of the BA (Hons) Business and Management Degree at the University of Portsmouth (subject to achieving the required grade profile). Other popular progression routes are employment and degree Apprenticeships. Entry Requirements All candidates have to be aged over 18 years and with one of the following academic qualifications (please note, they do not have to be related to Business Studies): – 48 UCAS points to include a minimum of one A Level at grade D or above or Edexcel, National Certificate qualification – NVQ3 to Pass Level – Access to Higher Education at Pass Level – Level 3 National Certificate/Diploma – Aged over 21 with relevant industrial/ commercial experience In addition, you should have English Language and Mathematics to a grade 4 at GCSE standard or Level 2 Functional Skills in both English and Mathematics.
