DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES HND Level 5 Venue: South Downs Campus Duration: 2 years (part time - one day a week) Cost: £3,150 per year Overview During both years of the HNC/HND you will get the chance to study a range of topics spanning hardware, software and technology, enabling you to become a multidisciplinary practitioner. HSDC prides itself on providing a first-class learning experience, with expert teaching, excellent facilities and a wide range of resources available to support studying. We have a dedicated hardware, software and networking laboratory, computer suites and private small seminar space for use throughout the course. Why choose this course? Students first enrol on to the HNC and, after successfully completing the course, can progress on to the HND qualification. The course entails a mixture of lectures, online content, tutorials, workshops and independent research. Every student will have a dedicated tutor to help support studies, as well as access to the College’s resources and facilities.
The course will be delivered part time over two years, with teaching taking place for one full day per week consisting of four sessions.
Year One HNC Core Units: – Professional Practice in the Digital Economy Innovation – Digital Transformation
Year One HNC Optional Units: – Programming – Cloud Fundamentals – Networking in the Cloud Fundamentals of AI & Intelligent Systems – Cyber Security – Database Design & Development Year Two HND units will include topics such as: – Business Intelligence – Internet of Things – Emerging Technologies – Digital Sustainability – Information Security Management in the Cloud – Digital Technologies as a Catalyst for Change If you elect to only complete the first year, then you will complete the course achieving a BTEC Level 4 HNC Diploma. If you progress on to the second year then you can achieve a BTEC Level 5 HND Diploma. Each unit is graded Pass, Merit and Distinction and aggregated over the duration of the course to determine your final grade.
