Mechanical / Manufacturing Pathway
If you choose to study the 18-month part time HNC on the Engineering Pathway you will study the following units: HNC: – Engineering Design – Engineering Science – Engineering Mathematics – Production Engineering for Manufacture – Quality and Process Improvement – Managing a Professional Engineering Project – Mechanical Principles – Fundamentals of Thermodynamics and Heat Engines This level of study requires additional hours allocated each week outside of college for research and writing reports.
Electrical & Electronic Pathway
If you choose to study the 18-months part time HNC on the Electrical & Electronic Pathway you will study the following units:
HNC: – Engineering Design – Engineering Science – Engineering Mathematics
– Electrical and Electronic Principles – Managing a Professional Engineering Project – Electronic Circuits and Devices – Automation, Robotics and PLC – Electrical Machines If you choose to study the three-year part time HND on the Electrical & Electronic Pathway you will study the following units: HND: – Embedded Systems – Advanced Manufacturing Technology – Research Project – Professional Engineering Management – Industrial Power, Electronics and Storage – Industrial Systems – Further Mathematics This level of study requires additional hours allocated each week outside of college for research and writing reports. We would recommend studying these seven units over two years.
If you choose to study the three-year part time HND, you will study the following:
HND: – Lean Manufacturing – Further Mathematics – Research Project
– Professional Engineering Management – Manufacturing Systems Engineering – Advanced Manufacturing Technology – Advanced Mechanical Principles – Virtual Engineering This level of study requires additional hours allocated each week outside of college for research and writing reports. We would recommend studying these seven units over two years.
