Crafting Excellence in Construction

The Birth of Palmetto State Exteriors

"How many times have you called a Service Contractor, and you can rarely get them on the phone? They don't do what they say they're going to do. That's where we thought we could change," Hugh says. This desire to inject professionalism into the construction services side became the driving force behind their business plan. Building a Vision From the outset, Palmetto State Exteriors aimed to offer comprehensive, warranty- backed solutions dedicated to the building envelope, encompassing both commercial and residential projects. Hugh elaborates, "All of our services are centered around the restoration, renewal, and protection of our client's largest investment, which is their home or their office."

Hugh McLaurin IV recounts the journey leading up to the creation of Palmetto State Exteriors. "Both John and I spent 25 years in the brick manufacturing industry, and Josh Posey, Waterproofing Division Director, has 26 years in the concrete industry. We saw a huge expansion in housing and commercial infrastructure and noticed an enormous shortage of skilled, professionally trustworthy trade labor," Hugh explains. This observation highlighted a critical gap in the market, one that Hugh and his partner were eager to fill. The frustration with the industry's status quo also played a pivotal role.

with the largest project reaching around $200,000. However, the company also handles smaller projects, averaging between $4,500 to $5,000. Geographically, their services span across South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia, strategically placing business development representatives in key markets to maximize reach and efficiency. Hugh emphasizes the importance of understanding client needs and providing tailored solutions. "We're not trying to go out there like these scaled companies do and sell specific services. We're solutions experts," he asserts. Our customer-centric approach has been instrumental in building a reputation for reliability and excellence.

Commitment to Quality and Professionalism

The company operates through four distinct divisions: soft wash cleaning, waterproofing, roofing refurbishment, and specialty coatings. Each division is tailored to meet specific client needs with a focus on providing long-term solutions rather than quick fix services. "Instead of just slapping paint on the side of the building, we're offering 20-year solutions. These warranties can be 20 to 25-year warranted solutions," Hugh notes. This approach ensures that clients receive not only aesthetic improvements but also structural longevity and protection. Diverse Project Portfolio Palmetto State Exteriors has tackled projects of varying sizes and complexities,

At the heart of Palmetto State Exteriors' success is a steadfast commitment to quality and professionalism. Hugh attributes much of this to clear communication and meticulous project management. "Communication is absolutely critical to make sure that we perform the project to what the customer has asked us to do and what we've agreed to do," he explains. The company's use of advanced project management tools, like CompanyCam, allows them to maintain transparency and accountability throughout the project lifecycle. Detailed workflows and scope definitions ensure that every aspect of the project is clearly outlined and agreed upon before work begins. This attention to detail minimizes misunderstandings and ensures that projects are completed to the highest standards.

This approach has led to a high rate of repeat business and referrals.
