FOX ONE SEPTEMBRE 2025

Misbehavin’ Wire Fox Terriers

The principle of "Mens sana in corpore sano" (a sound mind in a sound body) is a fundamental pillar of breeding for me. I maintain constant rigor and strive to improve with each litter. My mating plans involve thorough and meticulous pedigree study. Every puppy born in my kennel is rigorously evaluated against the breed standard, from nose to tail. I embrace a long-term vision and demonstrate the perseverance needed to achieve my goals, despite the inherent challenges of breeding. Success in breeding, in my eyes, is defined by producing puppies in excellent health with balanced temperaments, carefully selecting suitable families, and, of course, achieving success in conformation shows. Significant milestones, such as my win at the Canadian National, participation in prestigious events like Crufts, or establishing fruitful collaborations with respected breeders, are moments I've experienced with immense joy and profound gratitude to all who have supported me. On a daily basis, seeing my "Misbehavin'" dogs flourish and excel in various canine disciplines brings me the greatest happiness.

A s in many other countries worldwide, the existing legislation in Canada doesn't always favor breeding practices, no matter how responsible they are. More specifically, since this legislation is a provincial responsibility, Quebec likely places more obstacles in the way of breeders than it offers support. It's particularly difficult to obtain a kennel permit, which is necessary to keep more than 3 to 5 dogs, depending on the region, and this significantly limits the development of a serious breeding program. Laws in force in Canada, many of which were adopted over the last 10 years, often hinder cross-border collaboration. Indeed, it's now very difficult for a Canadian breeder to import new blood if the dog is under 8 months of age. Furthermore, the United States has also adopted a law prohibiting any puppy under 6 months from entering the country, which deprives many Canadian breeders of excellent potential families across the border.
