Alkinra No News is Good News is co-owned between me with my friends Dave and Linda in the UK. He has an amazing start to his show career in the UK. He was Top Puppy in 2024 in the UK and won a very competitive puppy group at Boston Championship Show. He also won a RCC from the puppy class. We hope to see NN return to the show ring later in 2025 and are excited see what the future brings.
Aside from showing, it was always important for me to breed to the Wire Fox Terrier Breed Standard. I believe it is important for wires to have a good movement and nice temperament. Most puppies are going in families making a wonderful pet, so all my dogs are having a life at home. We have lots of ground for their runs, but also are going out in the fields, training them without a leash and to behave well in the walking groups.
I think it is vital that breeders are working together. This was a must when some years ago we got the first ever info about VDEGS. I assume a lot of breeders had the same problems with having newborn pups with all these today well known symptoms. Back then it was a hidden problem. I had a litter with an affected girl. We didn’t know that then, but we tested her and found out she is a VDEGS affected dog. Her name was Milka and we took her around to show other breeders that it is important to test the dogs before the matings. I am very happy that my little Milka could help in this matter and her pictures still exist. She has had a worldwide impact in testing for VDEGS.
