1. RSCE Membership You must be a member of the RSCE (or an affiliated club), which is a prerequisite for anyone wishing to progress in the official dog world in Spain. 2. Prior Experience It is generally required to have experience in breeding or presenting dogs at conformation shows. Having a registered kennel name (affix) and having bred or shown several high-quality dogs is an advantage. It is advisable to have actively participated in shows for several years. 3. Theoretical and Practical Training The RSCE organizes courses for aspiring judges. These courses include: Modules on FCI/RSCE regulations Canine morphology, breed standards, judging ethics Practical internships with experienced judges (initial observation followed by supervised evaluations) 4. Examination After completing the training, you must pass : A theoretical exam covering standards, regulations, anatomy, etc. A practical exam, usually held during a dog show, where you will be observed while judging. 5. Accreditation If you pass the exams, you will first become a trainee judge or candidate judge for one or more breeds. After several supervised judging assignments and a positive evaluation, you can become an official judge for those breeds. Over time, with continuous training, you may expand to other FCI groups and eventually become an all-breed judge if desired.
6. Ongoing Education Even after becoming a judge, you must: Participate in refresher seminars Stay updated with changes in breed standards Renew or maintain your accreditation according to RSCE rules
