win, despite a half-time score of 26–28 to StAC. A broken scoreboard meant the teams were not watching the clock or points and the focus became having fun and supporting their teammates. The boys really pulled together to take a 38–32 win against Shirley Boys’ High School 12 White mid-season. SBHS scored in the first few seconds and it looked like it was going to be a tough game. Sheer persistence and determination got the team through, however, and it was a well-earned result. Another fun game saw the team take a 58–44 win over Catholic Cathedral College Senior D in a fast, high contact match with lots of points going up on the board. A highlight of the season was playing the Christ’s College Senior White in a competitive pride match. In a close-fought game, Senior White led up until the final minutes, then gave away a couple of fouls – and that was all the Senior Blacks needed to take a 38–35 win. Throughout the season, the team had a positive attitude and supported each other regardless of the points on the scoreboard. A close loss in the

semi-final and final meant the team finished in 4th place overall. Oscar Noble-Adams was awarded Most Valuable Player for his commitment to the team and the energy he brought to each game. He had a fast running style and, as our top points scorer, was integral to the team’s success. Fergus Beadel was awarded Team Player of the Year for his commitment to the team and support both on and off the court. As well as regularly setting players up to put points on the board, Fergus supported the team from the bench as coach when injury prevented him from getting on the court. SENIOR WHITE BASKETBALL Manager: Samantha Squire Team: Thomas Graham, Charlie Hanson, George Hutchinson, Winston Hutchinson, Mago Kawamura, Daniel Qi, Nic Turnbull, Eric Yao, Ricky Yau The boys displayed their character strengths admirably throughout the season, both on and off the court. When we played teams who were obviously not as good as us, we

didn't showboat. Instead, we gave our weakest players more game time so that our winning margin was not an embarrassment to the losing team. This demonstrated self- regulation, judgement and humility. On the court, the boys displayed enormous zest for both the game and their teammates, sharing ball time amongst all ability levels in the team and supporting each other even when their play was not successful.

Our penultimate game of the season,
