YEAR 9B CRICKET Coach/Manager: Tobias Bushell Coach: James Brehaut, Alistair Collins Team: Jamie Burdon, Will Gould, Elliott Grey, Fergus Johnston, George Kain, Oliver March, Jack McKeown, Finn Melhuish, Jonathan Murphy, George Pearse, Joshua Peckitt, Greg Robertson, Harry Rookes, Lachie Short, Barnaby Stanton, Nick Wilson The Year 9B team had a really fun term. We lost most of our games, won only one, but every week the boys turned up to training on Thursday to learn as much as they could from the coach, Alistair. This team was more of a social team when compared with the more competitive 9A side, but they still had some great cricket skills. The best thing I found was that each boy did his best and they enjoyed themselves even when the game wasn’t going how they were expecting or would have liked. Around 10 parents came along to watch the boys at every game, which also made them play their best.
More than anything else, these boys showed amazing teamwork, they never stopped talking to each other positively on and off the field, and anyone could see they will be a group with something special when they have more experience and become a part of a senior team at school. T20 RAMS CRICKET Coach/Manager: Callum Bell Team: Joshua Erasmus (captain), Isaac Aitken, Liam Alexander, Remi Fitzgerald, Hugh Fraser, Sam Greenslade, Monty Hamilton, Shyam Hari, Thomas Johnston, Dominic Kerr, Gus Macdonald, Hamish Newstead, Nic Shearer, Rajan Stephens, Sam Whitaker The Rams legacy has continued with an excellent bunch of students in 2019. After a rocky start in Term 1, the team reconvened in Term 4 with a few new additions to form a formidable side, securing many a great win against more experienced teams. At the cricket prize-giving,
Joshua Erasmus was awarded the prize for top batsman, with top fielder and bowler going to Remy Fitzgerald. Honourable mention must also go to Isaac Aitken and Rajan Stephens for their batting and bowling respectively, along with Shyam Hari for his strengths in both batting and bowling. Overall, it has been a pleasure to work with the latest iteration of the T20 Rams; I hope to have the privilege of doing so again in the future.
