In a must-win game to make the semi- finals, the team put in one of their poorer performances to lose 4–0 to CBHS. This saw the 1st XI miss the play-offs for the first time in the schools’ premier league history. In the final match of the season a 3–3 draw with Burnside meant the team finished 5th equal in the competition. At the national schools’ tournament (Rankin Cup) the team had a more positive week where they played more to their potential. They finished top of their pool with comfortable wins over Hutt International Boys’ School

For the first time in its history Christ’s College fielded seven hockey teams in 2019. While results on the field were not as positive as in previous seasons, the development of the boys as players and young men certainly was. INTERHOUSE HOCKEY RESULTS The quality of hockey played in the interhouse games was again high, as each House competed passionately against the other. In the junior competition, Corfe House met Harper House in the final, with Corfe House coming out on top 4–0. In the senior competition, the final between Somes House and Flower’s House was tight, with the score locked at 4–4 at full time before Flower’s House scored the winning goal in extra time.
