9th–16th Paraparaumu College 0 – College 1 (Mossman) 9–12th Whangarei Boys’ High 2 – College 1 (Adams) 11th–12th Auckland Grammar 2 – College 3 (Seeto, Mossman, King) YEAR 13 LEAVERS Nicholas Lidstone has been a member of the 1st XI hockey team since Year 9 and has played in four Rankin Cup tournaments and 108 matches. He was a member of the team who won the Rankin Cup in 2017 and were runners-up in 2018. He has been one of the most talented players in the team (and in the country), with outstanding skills, vision and understanding of the game. He is a member of both the New Zealand High Performance Pathway to Podium programme as well as the New Zealand U18 squad. Nick was awarded Colours in hockey in 2017 and 2018. Unfortunately, due to major surgery he has been unable to play this year, but the measure of Nick as a person was he became involved and contributed significantly in a coaching capacity with the 1st XI. Tim Cross has been a member of the 1st XI hockey team for three years, including three Rankin Cup tournaments and 89 matches. He was a member of the team who won the Rankin Cup in 2017 and were runners-up in 2018. As captain in 2019, he led by example with his performance on the field. Tim has been an adaptable player, both as a striker and in the midfield as required, and he has used his speed to his advantage, scoring 38 goals in his time in the 1st XI. He was a member of the Canterbury U18 Association team that won the national tournament this year. Tim was awarded Colours in hockey in 2018 and 2019.

and Taupo-nui-a-Tia College, and a draw with Tauranga Boys’ College. A narrow 2–1 loss to eventual finalists Timaru Boys’ High School saw the team in the play-offs for 9th–16th. A win over Paraparaumu College, a last- minute loss to Whangarei Boys’ High School and then a win over Auckland Grammar School saw the team eventually finish 11th in the country – a commendable effort.
