The College team had two boats in the 420 fleet racing nationals held at the Takapuna Yacht Club in March and the crews of Max Luisetti (skipper) and Matthew Bayley, along with Rupert Limbrick (skipper) had an enjoyable regatta. Rupert yet again gained the honour of selection to a New Zealand squad to compete at the world youth championships in Portugal in August. Competing against some of the world’s best sailors at this event, Rupert and his sailing partner were more successful in Portugal this year. He commented, “On the first few days it was quite windy, more similar to our New Zealand conditions, and we did well, coming second in the silver fleet after six races.” The pair then sailed another five races in lighter conditions, finishing 15th in the fleet, and 60th out of 89 crews. “It was a huge learning experience and we were fairly pleased with how we did.” A very raw junior College crew had three hard days competing in the
