Say ‘I Do’ ... to Life

A few weeks ago, my family had the privilege of attending two weddings in one day. Yes, this was as chaotic as it sounds, but it was worth it. My son, Connor, was the ring bearer at the first wedding, and he was really cute. He’s been a ring bearer a couple of times, so he was telling his younger cousins, who were also in the wedding, how it was done. Later on, at the receptions, all Connor wanted to do was dance. He’s eight, but he can already sweep any pretty girl off her feet on the dance floor. I wish I could take credit for that, but Connor definitely gets his dance moves from his mom.

Both of the weddings were fun and beautiful. I love weddings because it’s such an honor

to be part of a new family just getting started. My wife and I are celebrating 15 years of marriage this December. I cannot measure how much happier my life is with my wife and son in it. Relationships have their ups and downs, but I’m lucky because I know Suzanne has my back and that we will be there for each other, for better or worse. The worst feeling in the world is helplessness, like you’re powerless to stop the changing tides. At the office, we try so hard to show patients that they do have the power to change their situations. Thousands of other people have been in your shoes. They’ve experienced the same struggles as you, and by going through our process, those patients paved the way for the patients who came after them to see faster, better results. That said, your health is like a marriage. When the going gets rough, you have to be willing to put the work into making things better. But you don’t have to do it alone. We have the blueprints to help our patients be successful. When they focus on what’s motivating them to change and really commit to the process, the outcome can be extraordinary. When patients are willing to put in the hard work and push through challenging circumstances, we want to be there to point them in the right direction. We want our patients to wake up every morning like it’s their wedding day — happy and excited for life and love.

burden on their family. Because they don’t want to make things worse for the people they love, these patients don’t reach out and ask for help when they need it. As a result, they often just end up making things worse for themselves. In their struggle, they start to lose those close bonds with their family members that make life worthwhile.
