PERSON SPECIFICATION KNOWLEDGE Essential: • Excellent working knowledge of sustainability issues and climate change. • Carbon accounting and emissions reporting. • ISO14001 Environmental Management System (EMS)

• The ability to support, challenge, and work effectively with partners and colleagues. • Flexibility to rise to challenging situations and take on responsibility as appropriate to the role and their capabilities. EXPERIENCE Essential: • Proven experience in a similar role. • Demonstratable leadership skills and capacity to drive new initiatives. • Managing high-level and complex projects with multiple workstreams and priorities, ideally in a sustainability context. • Achieving organisational change. • Experience of utilities management, energy markets, and reporting on utilities and carbon performance. • Ability to prepare written documentation such as strategies, project briefs, policies and procedures. • Managing and monitoring external consultants. Desirable • Experience of working in high education or the public sector. • Identifying funding opportunities from grants/ trusts/donors/sponsors. • Good understanding and experience of infrastructure services. QUALIFICATIONS Desirable: • Educated to degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent professional experience. • Energy / Sustainability related qualifications such as CIBSE LCC, LCEA, EI RPEC, CEM, BREEAM / LEED AP / Assessor etc. • Project management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2 or APM) or experience. • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD). • Membership of professional organisation related to sustainability or energy. Alternatively, working towards membership.

• Excellent working knowledge of MS Office and software systems to support workflow management and document control. • Up to date knowledge of environmental and energy management. Desirable • Energy management systems and energy modelling packages. • Knowledge and understanding of renewable technologies. TECHNICAL AND/OR WORK-BASED SKILLS Essential: • High level project management – ability to initiate, progress, and monitor projects by utilising excellent organisation and time management skills. • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and positively influence a wide range of stakeholders and colleagues at all levels. • Budget management. • Ability to quickly grasp and understand full range of the College’s policies and • procedures. • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and present data effectively. • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel GENERAL SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES Essential: • Ability to manage effective relationships with management/ stakeholders. • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines, within a multi-disciplinary team.

FURTHER INFORMATION Salary: £49,745 rising to £58,554 per annum.

The salary, as shown above is on the College’s London pay scale, which includes a consolidated weighting/allowance, which applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the Greater London area. Hours: 35 hours per week (1.0 FTE) Working pattern: Monday to Friday Probation period: 6 months Duration of post: Open-ended, permanent contract
