Matt Wilcock (06-13) spoke about gardening the infamous Crossbones Graveyard on BBC Radio on Friday 16th August. The graveyard is a stone's throw away from Borough Market, Central London. He discusses the challenges of gardening a public space, alongside the community who have seen mysterious and spiritual sightings of "Winchester Geese", the medieval women buried there, on site. Matt now runs Leaves Breathe, a social enterprise improving playground, council estate, and sheltered housing gardens across Greater London. He is looking to welcome more Corporate Partners for volunteer days for the end of 2024 and 2025 to get hundreds of plants in the ground at these neglected spaces. If you would like to book a day with Matt and his team, please email us at dulwich@dulwich.org.uk and we will put you in touch with him.
