Aston Benjamin-Taylor (90-00) Thank you to Aston for 10 years as the OA rep for UAE

What has been the highlight of your time as an OA rep for Dubai (UAE)? One of the biggest highlights has been bringing together OAs from different backgrounds and industries to build a stronger community in Dubai and the wider region. Whether it was through networking events, dinners or casual get togethers, it’s been incredibly rewarding to see alumni connect and get to know each other better. Why do you think the global OA network is important? The OA network is more than just a school alumni group. It’s a lifelong community that offers support, opportunities, and friendships across the world. Whether someone is moving to a new country, exploring career changes, or looking for advice, the strength of the network ensures that there’s always an OA willing to help. What’s next for you? I’m looking forward to continuing my involvement with the OA community in the Middle East, even if in a different capacity. There are always new ways to contribute, whether through advice, attending events or simply staying engaged with other OAs. On a personal level, I’m also focusing on professional challenges and projects that keep me busy!

If your region is not represented and you would be interested to find out how you can help please contact us on oa@dulwich.org .uk. We are particularly interested to hear from OAs in UAE, Bejing, France or any country in Africa.
