Like many people, Anne Morrison’s interest in anything ancient Egyptian began in childhood, but it was always the hieroglyphs that held the most fascination. As a mature age student, Anne majored in linguistics at the University of New England and eventually completed a PhD in ancient Egyptian language, with a specific focus on modern-day texts for learning hieroglyphs.

Lauren has currently illustrated eight children’s books, with another five due for release in 2026, including her recent picture book ‘Fearless Finn’ written by fellow South Australian author Kristin Martin.
