Wastewater Systems Aerobic Treatment Units

Coerco offers a range of Aquarius® ATUs designed to effectively process wastewater from both residential and commercial properties. These systems efficiently handle wastewater from toilets, kitchens, bathrooms, and laundries, treating it to meet the stringent standards set by the Department of Health, WA. This treatment allows the recycled water to be safely used for irrigating garden beds, orchards, and more, or for dispersal into leach drains, soak wells, and aqua-safe drains. Our O-2 NR and O-3 models go a step further by reducing phosphorous and nitrogen levels in the water, making them particularly beneficial for water catchment areas, environmentally sensitive zones, and in meeting local shire regulations. These models are recognised for their nutrient-retentive capabilities, which are crucial for environmental conservation. Moreover, the Aquarius® O-3 stands out as our most eco-friendly option. It employs Ozone in its final disinfection stage, surpassing chlorine in effectiveness and leaving oxygen as its only by- product.

Treatment Process

Primary Tank Retains the solids and uses aerobic and anaerobic bacteria to breakdown the BOD 5 levels in the sewage Alum Tank Doses the clarifying chamber of the treatment tank with alum. Alum acts as a flocculent to remove the nutrients and suspended solids and settle them to the bottom of the tank for further aerobic bacteria breakdown.

Secondary/Aeration Chamber Incorporates aeration to further break down BOD 5 and nitrates. Effluent Disposal Systems Spray and Drip Irrigation Systems

Drip Irrigation System

A dripper field is several interconnected purple dripper reticulation pipes that form a closed reticulation system that is used to water landscaping or lawn using suitably treated wastewater. A dripper field’s size and design are determined by the hydraulic loading and the soil type on the property.

NB: Dripper irrigation cannot be connected to a septic tank as a disposal system.

The dripper field is usually installed as a subsurface system; however, above-ground sprinklers can be utilized if the treated wastewater has been disinfected using chlorine or ozone.
