Travel 2 Australia & New Zealand 2018/19

3 day Great Ocean Road, Phillip Island & Wilsons Promontory Departures: Mon, Fri (& Wed, Dec-Feb) excluding special event & public holidays

Great Ocean Road & Beyond Outside of Melbourne, the Great Ocean Road is the chief highlight of Victoria. The stretch between Lorne and Apollo Bay is considered the finest, with every twist and turn revealing yet another drop-dead gorgeous view. Inland, the Grampians National Park houses a third of Victoria’s plant species, and provides a safe haven for many species of native fauna.

Day 1: Melbourne - Great Ocean Road - Queenscliffe From Melbourne journey to Port Campbell where the Great Ocean Road begins. Be amazed at the iconic 12 Apostles and hear the tragic story of the shipwreck at Loch Ard Gorge before continuing through the luscious Otway Ranges to Queenscliff for your overnight stay. Day 2: Queenscliffe – Mornington Peninsula – Phillip Island The next morning ferry across Port Phillip Bay to Sorrento on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula. Encounter Australian wildlife at Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park, you’ll also be able to hand-feed wallabies on the Wallaby Walk (keep an eye out for tiny joeys in their mothers’ pouches). From there travel to Phillip Island to see the Nobbies and watch the world famous penguin parade at Summerland Beach before overnighting on the island. Day 3: Phillip Island – Melbourne Your final day takes you to Wilson Promotory National Park, a 50,000 hectare reserve with panoramic views boasting an array of native wildlife, pristine white beaches, coastal forests, cool climate rainforests and a labyrinth of walking tracks.
