Visit Warradjan Cultural Centre then join your local guide for a cruise on Yellow Water Billabong. Search for saltwater crocodiles and the colourful range of birdlife for which this region is renowned. After lunch, stop at Nourlangie, where your Driver Guide will take you on a walk to view the rock art galleries. (L) Mercure Kakadu Crocodile This morning travel by 4WD vehicle into Arnhem Land and the Mikinj Valley. The spectacular scenery includes sandstone outcrops, escarpments, forests, floodplains and billabongs. (L) Day 3: Jim Jim and Twin Falls Travel by 4WD to Jim Jim Falls. Take a 900-metre bushwalk to the Jim Jim Falls plunge pool, where there is time for a swim. After lunch, board boats to cruise up the first part of the Twin Falls gorge. There is a 45-minute walk over slippery rocks with sand and along rock ledges. Relax and enjoy spectacular scenery at the base of the falls. (L) Day 4: Kakadu – Guluyambi Cultural Cruise – Depart Darwin This morning stop at Ubirr for a short walk to view Aboriginal rock art. Later, join the Guluyambi Cultural Cruise along the East Alligator River. Disembark on the Arnhem Land side of the river to see a display of traditional hunting and gathering implements before heading back downstream. (L) A reasonable level of fitness is required and you must be able to swim. After a picnic lunch, take a stroll or cool off in one of Litchfield’s swimming holes. Then enjoy a wildlife cruise in the Mary River Wetlands to spot the crocodiles and native bird species. Enjoy an Aussie pub meal before climbing into bed. (LD) Day 2: Mary River - Kakadu National Park Head to Kakadu National Park and discover ancient Aboriginal rock art in Ubirr. Your guide will lead an interpretive cultural walk ending with awesome views over the Nardab floodplain. Head to either Maguk (Barramundi Gorge) or Gunlom Falls and cool off with a dip in the plunge pools. Tonight enjoy a group dinner at the campsite’s bistro. (BLD) Day 3: Kakadu - Katherine This morning you have the option to take a scenic helicopter flight (own expense). Later spend time exploring Nourlangie (Burrunggui), while your guide provides a glimpse into how the local Aboriginal people live. After lunch stop to visit the historic gold-mining centre of Pine Creek before continuing on to Katherine. (BLD) Day 4: Katherine - Darwin Depending on the season, head out on a morning cruise or canoe in Katherine Gorge (own expense). After lunch head to Edith Falls for one last refreshing swim before heading back to Darwin where your tour ends.
