Day 8: Rotorua - Taupo - Napier - Havelock North Follow the Thermal Explorer Highway to the heart of the North Island with a stop at Lake Taupo. Enter the Hawke’s Bay wine region with a stop in Napier on the way to Havelock North. Enjoy a delicious meal at Malo Restaurant with modern cuisine accompanied by the finest New Zealand wines. (BD) Porters Hotel (2 nights) Day 9: Havelock North Today, choose your included sightseeing activity. Perhaps explore the rugged coastline of the pristine Gannet Beach, or alternatively enjoy a traditional Art Deco experience in Napier. Here, delight in a stay at a country estate set amongst picturesque vineyards, with sweeping gardens and panoramic views. Day 1: Arrive Auckland You will be transferred to your boutique hotel overlooking the vibrant Princes Wharf. The afternoon is yours at leisure. (D) M Social Auckland (2 nights) Day 2: Auckland This morning, enjoy a city sights tour of Auckland. You will see iconic sites including Auckland University, Viaduct Basin, The Strand and the Rose Gardens. This afternoon, you have a choice of sightseeing. (B) Day 3: Auckland - Hokianga Depart Auckland for the Hokianga region today. Along the way, visit the Kauri Museum, which details the story of pioneering settlers of the Kauri industry, as well as the legacy of Kauri forests. (BD) The Heads Omapere (2 nights) Day 4: Hokianga With a day at leisure to explore, perhaps learn the Maori tradition of flax weaving, or nature lovers will delight with a scenic coastal walk. Alternatively embark on a Footprints Waipoua tour, where you will experience the affinity that early Maori had with the surrounding forests. (BD) Day 5: Hokianga - Bay of Islands - Auckland

Napier Explore the Bay of Islands on a dolphin-watching cruise to Cape Brett and the famous ‘Hole in the Rock’. Meander through the inner islands, admiring the beaches and rocky outcrops. (BD) M Social Auckland Day 6: Auckland - Matamata - Rotorua Head to Matamata and experience Middle-earth during a tour of the Hobbiton Movie Set, as well as lunch at the Green Dragon Inn. Later, arrive in Rotorua. (BL) Princes Gate Hotel (2 nights) Day 7: Rotorua Explore Rotorua with a choice of sightseeing.
