Review: Audio-Technica ATH-M50xSTS StreamSet

Captivating Audio and Comfort: Audio-Technica's StreamSet Headset

A udio-Technica has entered the expanding streaming market with its StreamSet headphones. The headset combines a mic mini- boom with a pair of M50 headphones, which are known for their good isolation, audio quality, and build quality. The StreamSet comes in two flavors: a USB version and an analog XLR/minijack version. The USB version comes with a USB-A connector and a USB-C adapter and supports up to 24-bit/96k. The set has two earcup options, a fabric option built for comfort and a leatherette version for superior isolation. The StreamSet's mic uses Audio- Technica's 20 Series capsule, which sits about an inch from the mouth, providing a super-present sound, and resists plosives and mechanical noise

The dynamic range of the StreamSet capsule means it won't be the weak link in the signal chain, even in loud environments. The USB version of the headset itself has no hard HPF rolloff of the low end and is resistant to distortion, even at high volumes. StreamSet is a workhorse, looks well- suited to extended use, and its Audio- Technica logo on the earcups tells its audience and colleagues that the user is serious about sound. Whether you're streaming, gaming, or participating in virtual calls, the StreamSet offers pro-grade performance that will help you elevate your audio game.
