Our Napier Outdoors Sights and Sounds of Summer Series, with our Sunsets, Saddles & Songwriters project, spotlighting the Atlantic Balloon Fiesta, Harvest Music Festival, Sommo Festival, and the Nova Scotia Stampede, along with some of the best places to eat, play, shop, and stay on the Maritimes, as we stretch Summer into September. We sat down with Neel Lakhani, the owner and operator of VIRNEEL Food Service Ltd, which offers delicious eats from its Pita Pit, Pizza Delight, and Booster Juice locations throughout Nova Scotia and Newfoundland, to discuss his passion for building Canadian brands and communities. Lakhani also discusses the motivation behind his entrepreneurial journey, his drive to seek new business opportunities in the Maritimes, and building solid partnerships and surrounding himself with positive people. We chat with Curtis Dionne, who, after completing a rigorous glassblowing apprenticeship, returned to the East Coast and began building his dream — piece by piece by founding Glass Roots Inc. in Saint John, New Brunswick. Dionne openly shares his artistic and entrepreneurial journey, which spans over two decades, and their heirloom-quality glass art pieces, created from countless hours of dedication to the craft, allowing visitors to take a piece of New Brunswick home with them. In today’s tourism industry, it seems you must be“unique”to stand out from the rest. We had the opportunity to chat with Danny and Jo-Anne Lagacé, who are the owners of Old Church Cottages Inc., about their locations in New Brunswick and how the couple is redefining the meaning of an extraordinary oasis getaway experience for adults near and far. You don’t have to be David Wilcox to live the Riverboat Fantasy, as we found out when we sat down with Larry Jewett, owner of Lakeway Houseboat Vacations. Larry explains how a bathroom renovation and a trip to Fredericton for supplies turned into a business offering a unique and relaxing vacation onboard a luxurious houseboat, touring the scenic Mactaquac Lake region of the St. John River in New Brunswick. The music scene is buzzing with fresh voices, and one of the most exciting names to watch right now is Nova Scotia’s very own, Taylor Jensen. Taylor’s music is now available across all streaming platforms; she’s making waves and already stepping onto big stages. We caught up with Taylor to get to know her better, discuss her artistic journey, and what fans can expect next from this talented singer-songwriter and musician from Inverness. My team and I want to thank everyone who made this issue possible. We look forward to sharing more stories about growing industries, successful businesses, brands, events, and the entrepreneurs making it all happen.
