A Good Report (JAN-MAR 2026)

I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water spring - ing up into everlasting life. He further clarifies this on the Last Great Day in John 7:37-39: On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, ‘If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’ But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified. When clean, pure water is mixed with whole wheat flour, it binds everything together. The mixture becomes a single lump that can be kneaded, molded, formed, and shaped by the hands of the baker. Without enough water, the flour re - mains dry and crumbly—it cannot hold together. Similarly, God’s Spirit within us al- lows us to understand, internalize, and apply His Word. Through His spirit He is able to work with us— shaping our thoughts, attitudes, and actions. We become a new lump in God’s hands. The Apostle Paul re-

cords in I Corinthians 5:7: Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are un - leavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us. Salt: Preserving and Improving Flavor Another small but essential ingre- dient in unleavened bread is salt. Though used sparingly, salt dramat- ically improves flavor. Without it, bread is bland and unappealing. Salt brings out what is already there, enhancing taste and preserving the food from decay. Jesus Christ directly connected salt with the role of His disciples in Matthew 5:13 he stated: You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. Salt here represents a positive influ - ence. True Christians should look to improve the environments they are placed in—bringing a godly per- spective, wisdom, self control, and encouragement. Just as salt enhanc- es food, Christians should elevate conversations, relationships, and circumstances by living and active- ly demonstrating God’s way of life. Paul echoed this principle in Colos- sians 4:6 when he wrote: Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one. Salt does not overpower when used

Pound for pound, it contains more vegetable protein than any other ce- real grain and is second only to rice as a human food crop. It is high in fiber, rich in essential minerals, and contains vital vitamins. The parallel is clear. God’s Word must be an essential staple in our lives as Christians. In II Timothy 3:16-17 it states: All Scripture is given by inspi - ration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thor - oughly equipped for every good work. Just as we eat daily the nutrient dense unleavened bread, we must continually take in God’s word for our spiritual health and growth. Water: The Binding Agent The second essential ingredient is water. Throughout Scripture, water is frequently used as a symbol of the Holy Spirit. When Jesus encoun- tered the Samaritan woman asking for water, He went on to explain this concept in John 4:14: but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that
