Open Livestock Rules Entry Information (All State and Local Rules Apply)

1. All Late Entries must be entered on a Paper Entry Form and submitted to the Livestock Office prior to the Late Entry Deadline. 2. All Senior Department livestock entries will be limited to barn space available. Also, animal numbers will be allocated so as to present best possible breed display for show. 3. After close of entry, the Fair reserves the right to adjust breed divisions for show equity. 4. Senior Divisions are open to out of State exhibitors. 5. No animal eligible to be entered in the Junior Department division may be entered in a Senior Department division except as provided in State or Local Rules. 6. Cattle exhibitors may secure extra transportation permits from Exhibit Office at (925) 426-7611 or Livestock Office at (925) 426-7605. One permit per load is necessary during transit to and from the Fair. Proof of ownership is required when brand on animal is different than the person transporting the animal. 7. To avoid penalties, see Livestock State Rules. 8. See department sections and state rules for animal identification requirements. 9. All original registration certificates must be submitted to the Management by the time printed in the schedule and individual sections and must be available at all times. Failure to do so will result in entries being automatically disqualified. No faxed registration papers will be accepted after the start of judging for that species. 10. NO BEDDING will be provided to livestock exhibitors by the fair. Fair management will arrange for an outside vendor to service exhibitors on grounds for straw and shavings needs. Pricing information will be provided to exhibitors prior to fair. 11. All Exhibitors MUST dispose of Straw and Shavings properly, so no cross contamination occurs. 12. All trucks, trailers and campers must be parked in designated areas. 13. Completed IRS W-9 will be required before judging. 14. If there is an indication of any unhealthy animals at the Fair, such animals, herds, or flocks will be removed immediately and will not receive cash awards, if awarded. Any vet expenses occurring during Fair time are the responsibility of the exhibitor. All animals must be properly cared for at all times, and pen/stalls/tack areas/aisles must be properly cleaned. 15. LATE ARRIVAL: A penalty of $100 per exhibitor & Veterinarian Expenses may be assessed and must be paid prior to judging. Exhibitors coming directly from another fair, and who anticipate a late arrival, must receive approval for late arrival from the livestock superintendent and request the other livestock superintendent to call/fax us with the time of departure and anticipated arrival time. Fair management may refuse entries at the gate without such approval. Cash awards may be adjusted for late arrivals.
