CLASS

1. FFA First Year Project Members (Ribbon Only) Open to members exhibiting that species of livestock for the first time ever. If an exhibitor has exhibited the project in another organization, he/she is not eligible for this class. First year project exhibitors may show in class 6 as well. 2. 4-H Beginner (Ribbon Only) Open to members 9-10 years old as of December 31, 2022. Top three winners in this class compete in the next age group. 3. 4-H Junior (Ribbon only) Open to members 11-13 years old as of December 31, 2022. Winner of class qualifies for Junior Master Showmanship. Previous Junior Master Showmanship winners may show in Intermediate. 4. 4-H Intermediate (Ribbon and Cash Award) Open to 4-H members 14-15 years old as of December 31, 2022. Top three winners in this class will compete in the next age group. 5. 4-H Advanced (Ribbon and Cash Award) Open to 4-H members 16 and over as of December 31, 2022. Winner of this class qualifies for Master Showmanship. 6. FFA Advanced (Ribbon and Cash Award) Open to FFA members. Winner of this class qualifies for Master Showmanship.

Market Rules 1. Market lambs may be either Wethers or Ewes. 2. Market lambs must have lamb teeth. 3. Tail Docking - To qualify for exhibit market lambs must be docked such that the tail (dock) is healed and can be lifted from the exterior. Lambs that have no dock will not be eligible. 4. All market lambs must weigh between 100 and 160 pounds. The maximum pay to weight for the Junior Livestock Auction is 150 pounds. 5. All breeds will be called at weigh in by an official breed caller. Animals will be transferred to the appropriate class if needed. The breed caller’s decision is final. 6. Management reserves the right to combine classes/organizations based on the number of animals pre-tagged. 7. All market/feeder lambs must have slick shorn from the knee and hock up to the satisfaction of Livestock Show management ten (10) days or less before entering inspection area at Fair. Stretched fleece must not exceed ¼” in length and must be uniform over entire body. 8. At the discretion of management, each class will be broken down further by live weight. Management will determine the number of market classes to be judged after weigh-in. 9. The Champions and Reserve Champion will have their ear tags rechecked at the time of Champion Drive. 10. The Fair will not accept lambs from scrapie “non-compliant” flocks or animals that scrapie positive or scrapie suspects. See State Rules.
