DEPARTMENT 31 Fiber, Wool and Fleece Drop off June 20 at Livestock Office or Mailed by June 11
1. Presentation (See State Rules Regarding Wool) •
Fleece may be hand delivered or shipped to arrive by June 12. Mail to: ▪ Alameda County Fair Attn: Exhibits Office/Wool Show

• Fleece shall be rolled flesh side out and placed in a clear plastic bag. (Per State Rule) • Paper twine is discouraged. • Exhibitors may sell their fleece entered into the competition to the public, if desired. 2. Sale of Fleeces (Small Animal Office will process all sales of fleece/fiber entries.) • To sell your fleeces, contact Exhibits Office at (925)426-7611. • All sales completed at the fair are subject to 20% commission for administrative costs. Sale checks will be mailed after the fair. 3. Judging Criteria – Quality of fitness must be typical of the registered breed represented, evenness of quality or fineness among the various parts of the fleece; length and strength of staple; estimated clean weight; condition; and character, including crimp and color. All exhibitors must place wool in bag as they would like entry presented.
