Gamecover Seeds Handbook 2017

INTRODUCTION Welcome to our 2017 Gamecover and Environmental Seed Handbook In keeping with other years we are pleased to offer our usual comprehensive range of seeds, throughout the handbook we have highlighted the suitability of each for either cover, feed or holding and also for environmental stewardship and cross compliance. Every season brings its own challenges and it is extremely important to plan well in advance which types of crop you wish to grow, their particular requirements for nutrition, weed control options and other key factors to ensure the best chance of growing a good crop. Alongside the seed range we continue to offer our full support package from establishment to the finished crop including site planning, soil analysis, full nutrient planning, cultivations, sowing and finishing with weed control and general crop husbandry. We believe this service is second to none in the industry and combined with our years of experience within the seed industry we have a long history of consistent success. The last growing season was probably one of the better ones in recent memory for growing Maize crops with the right amounts of rain and the vitally important sunshine all coming at the right time, in common with other years the later sown Maize crops performed the best with some still standing well even now at the end of the season, brassica crops for the second year in a row were very tricky to get well established but they put in a real growth spurt in the late summer/early autumn to achieve good results with most now well set to do a second year if necessary, mixtures also had a good season. We hope you find this handbook useful and informative and we look forward to hearing from you to discuss your ideas and requirements for the coming season.
