J Life Fall 2025

Kinneret Council on Aging (KCOA) is a nonprofit organization that provides life- enhancing resources to the more than 300 residents of Kinneret Apartments, a low- income, independent senior housing complex located in downtown Orlando. KCOA also extends its services beyond Kinneret’s walls to serve and engage the aging population throughout Central Florida, all based on Jewish values. Partnerships with 4Roots, U.S. Hunger, Rosen JCC, Second Harvest Food Bank, the City of Orlando, and the UCF Mobile Health Clinic help provide nourishment, engagement, and wellness to all of our residents. For more information about KCOA or to make a donation, please visit our new website at KinneretCouncil. org or email Executive Director KINNERET COUNCIL ON AGING

Suzanne Grimmer, Senior Director of Museum Experiences, offers this message: Shana Tova from the Holocaust Center of Florida. As we welcome Rosh Hashanah and the start of 5786, we enter a season of reflection, renewal, and hope. This is a HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL RESOURCE & EDUCATION CENTER OF FLORIDA

time to look back with gratitude for the stories we have preserved and shared, and to look forward with determination to continue our work for a more compassionate and just world. At the Holocaust Memorial Resource & Education Center of Florida, we are dedicated to honoring the Holocaust’s legacy by amplifying the voices of those who lived through it. These stories are not only history but also urgent lessons for our time. They speak to the dangers of prejudice, the necessity of combating antisemitism, and the importance of reaffirming the humanity and dignity of Florida’s Jewish communities in these troubling times. Every program, exhibition, and educational initiative we offer is designed to deepen understanding, foster empathy, and inspire action. Together, we can ensure that future generations not only remember what happened but also feel a responsibility to stand up against hatred in all its forms. As this new year begins, may we all find the strength to build bridges of understanding, the wisdom to learn from the past, and the courage to shape a brighter future. Shana Tova U’Metuka.
