WORLD OF WORK CONFERENCE This week, a group of Year 10 students, accompanied by Mrs Dhir and Mr Parker, had the opportunity to attend the “World of Work” conference, organised by the Worshipful Company of World Traders. The main objective of the conference was to familiarise students with the importance of soft skills and how they can be beneficial in both personal and professional lives. The conference consisted of a variety of workshops that focused on different aspects of communication, questioning techniques, and diversity. In addition, there was a panel event where previous attendees shared their experiences and offered advice on how to make the most of their education. The conference was a fantastic way to introduce our students to the skills and strategies needed to achieve their future goals. Our students gained valuable insight into how they can prepare themselves for success in the years ahead.

DRAMA PERFORMANCE BY THE QUIRKY BIRD THEATRE COMPANY

On Tuesday Quirky Bird Theatre Company came to show Year 10 ' The IT ', a show that is a set text for GCSE Drama. Students said the play was important in raising awareness of mental health in young people as the play is about all the stresses on a teenager’s life and how they can cause anxiety. The piece is very current and addresses issues facing society today such as racism and food banks. Some students commented that it was nice to see the play as it makes them feel less alone with their anxieties and traumas.
