LEED Platinum pre-certified trophy building consisting of five stories, totaling 96,000+ s/f office space. This development is located in the hub of Univer- sity City between University of Pennsylvania and Drexel University , the University City Science Center, and West Philadelphia. 2.0 University Place is the first commercial office building in Philadelphia to be pre-certified to platinum status by the United States Green Building Council un- der itsLeadership inEnergyand Environmental Design (LEED) program and will be the first commercial office building in either Center City or Univer- sity City to achieve platinum status. It will be one of three Commercial office buildings in Pennsylvania to achieve LEED Platinum status. It is intended to be the first step in the cre- ation of an exciting new “Green’ office destination, catering to researchers, college graduates technology companies, aswell as emerging companies who have sustainability as a major part of their company DNA. 2.0 University Place and its developer University Place Associates (UPA) intends to set the standard for green develop- ment in the City of Philadelphia and position Philadelphia na- tionwide as a leader in smart,

environmentally-friendly devel- opment. It will be constructed to thehighest standards of sustain- able development and will serve as a centerpiece in the City of Philadelphia’s drive to become, in the words of Mayor Michael Nutter, “the greenest city in the country.” Currently they are ranked # 5. 2.0 University Place begins a revitalization and adaptive reuse effort of several blocks adjacent to the University City Science Center with state of the art class “A” commercial office space, using the highest in technology to create a stan- dard of excellence both in the construction of the building as well as in the interior, creating a superior work environment for its tenants. This project will bring active and exciting daily walking traffic to the area thereby improving the overall quality of life in the area. From the beginning planning and design stage of the project, Philadelphia’s Planning Com- mission has considered UPA’s initial project 2.0 University Place, to be transit-oriented development at its best. With access to Philadelphia’s Mar- ket-Frankfurt Line (the “El”) it
