or a broker, retailer or landlord to find evidence of the re-

tion by retailers, developers and tenant representation brokers. In years past we have seen empty booths and lackluster performance by even some of the largest businesses in the market. This year, it was hard to accommodate all the quality meetings in only two days. The level of energy was inspiring. We work in a field that has been hit hard over the past few years and to see so many brokers, retailers and other players attending such a pivotal conference in our region was a true sign and testa- ment to the rebounding of the market.

As a Central PA broker for over 13 years, I can person- ally attest to the value of at- tending these regional con- ferences. Our retail division always brings home many potential deals, listings, and working relationships. The potential business gain, as well as the education op- portunities that the ICSC conferences present, paired with the energy a returning market promises made this past year ’s Atlantic City Idea Exchange the East Coast show of the year to have attended. I can speak personally for our booth and the agents from our company who at- tended: it was a very high energy and productive show. I was surprised and even a bit overwhelmed by the level of attendance and participa-

ber participating in. This year the committee chose to change the venue and it was very well received by the membership. Under the leadership of our sate direc- tor John-David Franklin of Madison Marquette and the show Chairman Jordon Clafey of Brixmore the num- bers reveal shows success. Over 1,500 registrants, 146 exhibitors, 60 participating in the golf outing and 30 for the sporting clays, each category reflects a marked increase over previous years. The mood of the show was absolutely positive and en- ergetic; the venue was a nice change from previous years. My unofficial verbal poll of the membership revealed that lots of participants were making an event out of the show by staying extra nights and enjoying Atlantic City. AtArrow Real Estate Servic- es we found that the access to the convention hall and the booth setup was far eas- ier than Philadelphia. One of

the best and more innovative decisions that the committee made this year was to host the members cocktail party among the booths in the con- vention hall at the end of the first day of deal making. Ar- rowReal Estate Services had great participation this year with over 18 agents in atten- dance covering 7 states. The booth was incredibly busy with continuous meetings, several deal were actually executed at the show, many more were moved forward and an astounding amount of completely new business

was initiated. All in all by far the best show I ever remember hav- ing thanks to the hard work from the organizing Commit- tee with the superb support of ICSC’s Bill Taylor and his staff.
