Mobile LiDAR mapping solutions from AEVEX Aerospace (Geodetics Products) provide powerful, survey-grade data that delivers precise and accurate geospatial information in real or near-real-time. Mission and operational needs are varied and unique, so we provide customizable and agile LiDAR mapping technology that can be ground-mounted or drone-based. The recently enacted bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act was put in place to facilitate a nationwide infrastructure rebuild. With a significant proportion of the nation’s roads and related infrastructure in disrepair, there is an increasing importance being placed on mobile LiDAR and its abilities to capture large, dense, georeferenced datasets over extensive areas safely, quickly and without compromise to data quality. The Federal Government will be allocating funds to support programs that require mobile LiDAR mapping, including the eight points highlighted on the left:

LiDAR mobile mapping is a highly accurate, powerful, and cost-effective way to evaluate infrastructure and other assets – but we know that it is not a one-size-fits-all solution. AEVEX Aerospace (Geodetics Products) works closely with our clients to fully understand their requirements and expectations in order to customize the solution to their specific needs, maximizing system performance and efficiency of operation. With a combination of drone-based and ground-based applications, AEVEX LiDAR mapping offers versatile vehicle support whether in the air or on the ground. Ground-based solutions, such as Geo-ECTO-1, are best utilized for projects over long driving stretches or corridor routes, while our drone-based mapping solutions are ideal over smaller area sizes with heavy vegetation cover or difficult-to-access areas. Our solutions are easily configurable with a quick set-up time, allowing seamless transition from ground-vehicle to UAV. The adjustable scanner orientation and single or dual-LiDAR options on Geo-ECTO-1 allow the system to be adjusted for each project, dependent on project objectives and scan area of focus.

User-Friendly & Efficient Operations

LiDAR allows for efficiency and safety while conducting mapping, surveying and research programs. Because daylight isn’t needed for operation, surveys can be conducted regardless of the time of day or night for higher productivity. Safety is also increased by removing personnel from hazardous environments such as tunnels, bridges, and power lines poles. However, safety and efficiency are only effective if the system is user-friendly, intuitive and flexible. This is how we built Geo-ECTO-1 – with the end-user in mind.
