The pump station is one of the most complicated components of the irrigation system. It has not only physical components that wear but electronic and electrical components that are in need of periodic maintenance, servicing and replacement. There are a number of factors that play into a pump station maintenance/repair/replace schedule. The water quality being pumped, the numbers of hours the pumps operate, the times per hour the pumps cycle on and off, the controls system running them, and the power being supplied to the system. Make repairs and minor replacements as needed as an operating expense. Planning for comprehensive replacement on roughly the schedule below. Continue to monitor and adjust as needed in future Reserve Study updates.
