itual things. It is the Spirit of Cod that provides light on spiritual things. How did Paul become the spir itual man, communicating deeper things of Cod's Word? I Corin thians 2:10 indicates that to move from the natural to the spiritual level or dimension, it takes a man available to the Spirit of God. There is a new birth that is essential, and there is the walk with God in the Spirit. All Christians are potentially able to receive spiritual truths. But many are more interested in living on the temporal level. That was the case of the Christians in Corinth. It is natural for us to be temporal. Have you ever heard a person say, "Well, I lost my temper, but that is human nature." Or, "I am going to do my own thing, that is just human nature, too." The trag edy is that we do not have to live just with the human nature. There is the spiritual nature that is avail able, not only through salvation, but through the walk with Cod. Now then, there is another ele ment that is essential. Spiritual leaders who understand these things, have to communicate them to others. Verse 13 indicates that Paul was ready to communicate this message. In great detail he told of the deeper things of the Lord. We read in Romans about justifi cation by faith, a spiritual matter that is deep and profound. We read about the spiritual walk of faith in Galatians. Even in I Cor inthians we read about some of the deeper things of the Lord, though this epistle is more of a practical one. It deals with the problems in Corinth far more than it deals with the potential of victorious living. Verse 13 indicates that the deep Page 45
If we were trying to communi cate to an earthworm (and there were no language barrier), I do not imagine that the complexity of de cisions that the earthworm is cap able of understanding would be similar to the complex situations that we, as human beings, find ourselves in.
