Tom Gwaltney
Tom Gwaltney is the senior director of power delivery emergency preparedness at Florida Power & Light Company (FPL). In this role, Tom oversees all plans and processes related to emergency response, event mitigation and recovery. These plans and processes apply to hurricanes and other severe weather conditions, pandemic and grid capacity shortfall emergency events, cyber and physical threats, in addition to corporate business continuity plans across the NextEra Energy enterprise. Mr. Gwaltney has been with FPL for more than 35 years and holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Georgia Tech. He represents FPL on several committees of the Southeastern Electric Exchange and Edison Electric Institute.
