Charles W. Long, P.E.

Mr. Long joined Entergy in 1992 as a substation field engineer, supporting grid activities in Entergy Louisiana. During his 29 years at Entergy, Charles has performed various field and engineering roles in Asset Management, Operations, and Planning, most recently leading the Transmission Planning and Strategy group overseeing the long-term capital planning for the transmission systems of the Entergy Operating companies. In addition, Charles leads the planning section of Entergy’s System Incident Command organization. Charles is active in the utility industry participating on various working groups in SERC, MISO, and NERC, is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and is a registered professional engineer in the state of Louisiana. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from The University of Alabama and a master’s degree in business administration from Millsaps College.
