trends in investing in its Rapida, the most significant ad- vantage, according to Antonucci, is color repeatability. “In the folding carton space, our new Rapida press can scan and store all our PMS colors. For commercial work, the Rapida 106 produces exceptionally vibrant colors, partic- ularly on matte or uncoated stocks, delivering results that rival our digital presses.” “With the addition of our new Rapida 106, we’ve clearly elevated our position in the market,” says Antonucci. “We recognize Koenig & Bauer as the top tier press manufac- turer, but after evaluating other options, our most decisive factors for choosing Koenig & Bauer were its service and its role as a trusted advisor. Their management team truly went the extra mile to earn our business. We believe this investment represents an important step forward in our on- going commitment to quality, efficiency, and innovation.”

PPEC Shares Key Takeaways From FBA Meeting In La Jolla

The Paper & Paperboard Packaging Environmental Coun- cil (PPEC) attended last week’s Fibre Box Association (FBA) Annual Meeting in La Jolla, California, where discussions ranged from policy, sustainability and advocacy to leader- ship and emerging technology. One session that stood out in particular focused on ex- tended producer responsibility (EPR) and recycling policy, featuring Danielle Waterfield of AMERIPEN. The conversation reinforced fibre’s position as one of the most recycled materials, while also pointing to the growing need for better data, transparency, and coordina- tion as EPR policies continue to develop across the U.S. There was also a clear message that existing systems al- ready performing well should be recognized as part of that process. Several speakers touched on broader themes that res- onated with PPEC and its mission. Chris Drees, CEO of Menasha Packaging, emphasized the role industry associations continue to play in keeping companies aligned and engaged. Garry Ridge, Chairman Emeritus of WD-40 Company, focused on culture and lead- ership, particularly the ongoing challenge of employee en- gagement. Ari Fleischer, former Press Secretary to President George W. Bush, addressed the current U.S. political en- vironment and what it means for policy and advocacy. For PPEC, it served as a reminder of how quickly that land- scape is shifting. On the technology side, Sam Richter spoke about arti- ficial intelligence and the pace of change, noting that it’s “not a technology that is optional.” PPEC extends its gratitude to the FBA team for an in- sightful conference and for the opportunity to connect with U.S. colleagues at ICPF, AICC, AF&PA, and so many others.
