What is Coolsculpting?

CoolSculpting® was the invention of two Harvard scientists who had been researching the effect that eating popsicles seemed to have on children. Kids who ate lots of popsicles developed dimples. The scientists thought the cold somehow affected fat in the area, hence the dimples.

With less fat, the patient’s contour slims. The FDA has so far approved CoolSculpting® for eight body areas.

Why BFPS does it better: Mark Beaty is world-renowned for his experience and expertise with CoolSculpting®. He is a member of the Zeltiq/Allergan advisory board for CoolSculpting®. Dr. Beaty was one of the two physicians selected to present at the CoolSculpting® launch in China. We also provide an InBody assessment for every patient. InBody is a sophisticated device that provides a complete body analysis of the patient. This includes measurement of weight, skeletal muscle mass, body fat, visceral fat, and hydration status.

They applied this thinking to fat on the abdomen and CoolSculpting® was the born.

The core concept is that human fat cells freeze at a higher temperature than other tissue cells. The CoolSculpting® device delivers controlled cooling downward into the treatment area freezing the fat cells while leaving everything else unharmed. This freezing kills around 20-25 percent of the fat cells in the treated area. The body then breaks down and flushes these dead cells from the body over the course of the next few weeks.
