Holloway Foundation Enhancing the Experience 2

November 2, 2023

Holloway Foundation, Inc. 150 4th Avenue N Suite1850 Nashville, TN 37219

Dear Holloway Foundation,

Thanks to your unwavering support, we have received over $3.7 million in gifts and pledges toward Enhancing the Experience: A Campaign For MRA. We are thankful for these significant investments from our patrons, which have enabled us to begin several of our projects ahead of schedule. New collaborative classroom desks are being used in the elementary and high school, our teachers are enjoying a renovated lounge and workroom, and all of our elementary classrooms have been updated. We have also been able to enhance our student leadership spaces, as well as create a Counseling Center and a new Biomedical Sciences academic program and lab. As we set our sights on the future, we have even more to accomplish. The campaign's next phase will focus on building a new tennis complex and golf practice facility, a performing arts rehearsal hall, and the Rawlings Hall Enrichment Center in our kindergarten. With your renewed support, we can surpass expectations and create a lasting impact on our students, faculty, and families that will be felt for generations to come. With our capital campaign nearing its next phase, we invite you to continue this journey with us by renewing your pledge of $100,000 for another year. Your generosity will help us continue our essential work and propel us toward success as we work to reach our goal of $4,755,000.

To renew your pledge, please use the enclosed reply card. If you have any questions or would like to discuss your pledge further, please feel free to contact me directly at 601.624.1867 or tland@mrapats.org.

Thank you for being an integral part of our journey. Together, we are shaping a brighter future for our students, faculty, and families for years to come.

Sincerely,

Termie Land Head of School

Educating the Mind, Body, and Spirit

Introduction

In keeping with the mission of Madison-Ridgeland Academy, we strive to provide a superior educational experience for our students while encouraging and enabling each student to reach his or her individual potential. Our dedicated faculty recognizes and respects the unique ways in which each student learns best, teaching an academically rigorous curriculum while simultaneously going beyond the classroom walls to provide “real life” experiences. As students become lifelong learners, they are encouraged to think critically, creatively, and independently. We have an innovative, student-centered academic program geared to each child’s individual strengths and interests, and we have small class sizes in which every type of learner can thrive. We are honored to be a part of the journey as we walk hand in hand with our students as we prepare them for lives of knowledge, purpose, and character. While our school has experienced growth in student numbers, record academic achievements, and championship athletic accomplishments, we have intentionally maintained an emphasis on upholding our core values that make us different and special. Growth doesn’t always mean bigger. Since MRA’s founding in 1969, a family atmosphere and individualized attention to our students have been an integral part of the culture of our school. We strive to be a place where knowledge, talent, and goals are fostered and where each child is valued for his or her gifts.

At MRA, growth means deeper, enriched, stronger, enhanced.

Deeper relationships. Enriched academic programs. Enhanced experiences.

Opportunity

In the Summer of 2022, MRA retained the J. F. Smith Group - an independent fund- raising firm - to help conduct an extensive planning study among past, present, and future members of the MRA community to determine the feasibility of launching a capital campaign to support the Board-approved strategic plans. The goal is not to grow enrollment, but to directly enhance the academic, art, and athletic programs of our current and future students, as well as the experiences held by our faculty, staff, and parents. The results of the study indicated that our school community enthusiastically supports and is in agreement with the necessity of the proposed projects to ensure MRA students have the best in class experiences available across academics, arts, athletics, and extracurricular activities. After a year of prayer and preparation, MRA is entering a capital campaign to make the vision a reality. Together, MRA Leadership and the Board of Trustees have launched Enhancing the Experience: A Campaign for Madison-Ridgeland Academy seeking to raise $4,755,000. MRA is committed to enhancing the experiences of our students, faculty, staff, and families now and in the future. Your participation in Enhancing the Experience helps address current needs and shapes the future of MRA.

"With Enhancing the Experience , we desire to provide avenues for our students to experience enriched academic programs and expanded opportunities to serve and lead. We look forward to the impact it will have on the MRA campus and on the MRA family, now and for years to come."

Rawlings Hall Enrichment Center

$4,500,000

The magic of MRA starts in kindergarten with our youngest learners - a place of wonder, excitement, and hands-on experiences. Presented in a nurturing, loving, and stimulating environment, our well-planned activities develop the academic, creative arts, physical, and social skills of each child. Completion of the Rawlings Hall Enrichment Center will move two K5 classrooms to the K5 hall, as well as create spaces for the enrichment classes of music, Bible, and computer. In addition, the center will include a multi-purpose room for PE classes, indoor recess, after-school activities, Grandparents’ Days, and other school programs and events.

Performing Arts Rehearsal Hall $1,700,000

We believe that each student has unique God-given talents and abilities, and we are committed to helping students discover and explore those gifts to their fullest potential. The Visual and Performing Arts Department at MRA provides an avenue through which every student at every age level has the opportunity to explore and develop his or her creative gifts and abilities. Our performing arts program has grown significantly over the last five years. More than 1,000 students are involved in the performing arts at MRA, and we would like to give them a place to practice, as well as create their elaborate stage sets without having to take them down each day. MRA is proposing to expand the current storage building south of the baseball field and create a Performing Arts Rehearsal Hall. This will provide a permanent facility for our current and future performing artists to cultivate their talents and deepen their relationships.. Classroom Upgrades and Enhancements

$800,000

Additional upgrades planned for the elementary and high school wings include technology enhancements, new classroom desks and flexible seating, art casing displays, and new monitors for the hallways.

"I truly believe that MRA provides an education in a class of its own. The dedication, love, and respect our educators have for our students are what sets us apart. Enhancing the Experience will provide our students, faculty, and families with incredible opportunities to grow, and develop. I invite all of the MRA family to help make these projects a reality and create possibilities for the future."

Tennis Complex $1,000,000

MRA has purchased four acres of land from Ridgecrest Baptist Church in order to build a Patriot Tennis Complex.

The construction of eight “home” tennis courts on Old Canton Road will enhance safety for our student-athletes while allowing for increased student and fan participation. There may also be room for a small golf practice area. Plans are underway to determine the possibility of placing a few nets and putting green in any remaining available space.

Invitation

As part of our campus life, MRA provides experiences in which a student can discover his or her own unique talents, develop the leader within, explore new interests, find his or her passion, experience teamwork and collaboration, and gain an appreciation for giving back to others. There is so much more to learning than attending class. A day at MRA is full of not only classroom experiences, but also opportunities for involvement and participation which make for a full, well-rounded education. The positive impact MRA has had on those it serves would not be possible without the physical and financial support of our Patrons. As a part of the school's family of support, you have the opportunity to set the standard for others. We invite you to help us create more opportunities for our students to find their place, strengthen their relationships, and honor their God-given gifts and talents. Your gift may be established as a pledge, payable over three years. Pledges do not necessarily have to be made in equal installments. Some families, for instance, have chosen to increase their payments as time passes. Gifts to MRA are tax- deductible, as allowed by law.

Thank you for your prayerful participation and support of Enhancing the Experience: A Campaign for MRA.

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 1 Peter 4:10
