Student growth percentiles (SGP) are used to measure how a group of student’s achievement has grown or changed over time. Growth is distinct from achievement. For example, a student can achieve at a low level but grow quickly, and vice versa. Students are compared only to their statewide academic peers. Growth is subject, grade, and year specific. Percentiles are calculated on the change in achievement.
