Wellesley has one tax rate for all classifications: residential, commercial, industrial, and personal property. With the single-family home values increasing, the FY’24 tax rate will be reduced to $10.41/$1,000 valuation. According to the Massachusetts Department of Revenue, Division of Local Services, the property tax is “an assessment on the ownership of real and personal property. An owner’s property tax is based on the assessment, which is the full and fair cash value of the property. 6 ” Tax collection rates are over 99% for the past five years. The tax impact of schools is described in more detail in the Informational Section. Comparable Community Data Wellesley Public Schools has, like many other public schools, emphasized the use of data to drive decision-making. Per Pupil Expenditure (In-District Only): The Per Pupil Expenditure (PPE) is calculated for each district based on the submission of the data contained in the End-of-Year (EOY) report. Below is a comparison of per-pupil expenditure for the past five years for our comparable communities. FY’23 FY’19 FY’20 FY’21 FY’22 FY’23 Grades Enr.
