Wellesley Public Schools: Fiscal Year 2026 Budget
With the completion of the Elementary Building projects in August 2024, and the closing of the Upham Elementary School in June 2024, the School Committee’s approved redistricting map went into effect for the 2024-2025 school year. The map below reflects the remaining six (6) elementary school locations. The district has one (1) middle school and one (1) high school.
Elementary Transfer Option (ETO) Enrollment 7 The Elementary Transfer Option (ETO) is an option that allows parents and guardians to voluntarily request attendance at an elementary school other than their neighborhood school. Prior to applying for the Elementary Transfer Option, a child must be registered in the Wellesley Public Schools. The Elementary Transfer Option requests must be submitted to the District Registrar between March 1st and May 1st for the following school year. Wellesley Middle School: Students from the six (6) elementary schools enter Wellesley Middle School (WMS) in sixth grade. To provide a challenging learning atmosphere, Wellesley Middle School attempts to meet the individual differences in student skills, interests, backgrounds, and rates of learning. Teachers have a variety of ways to work with the range of skill levels within a class. Attention is especially given to the changing needs of students during the middle school years. Ensuring that the transition from elementary to high school is challenging yet secure is the focus of our grouping practice. Consequently, grouping practices vary at each grade level.
