Wellesley Public Schools will be a world-class system that develops the heads, hearts, and hands of its students and inspires them to think critically, solve problems, create, and innovate in order to improve themselves, their communities, and the world. Theory of Action IF we maximize professional collaboration and development opportunities for educators that focus on meeting the individual learning needs of students, and IF we enhance the curriculum to incorporate essential skills for the 21 st century, THEN we will provide a rich learning environment that prepares all students to be college, career, and life ready. Profile of a Graduate Wellesley Public Schools partnered with EdLeader21 a national organization focused on transforming educational opportunities for students through its mission to develop 21st Century skills. An important starting point in this work is for districts to develop a “Profile of a Graduate” (POG) that clearly defines the trajectory for all students PreK-12. Working with EdLeader21 CEO, Ken Kay, Wellesley Public Schools developed its own Profile of a Graduate in 2017-2018. This Profile has served as the foundation for the Wellesley Public Schools Strategic Plan 2023-2028.
