• Approves public and private day and residential schools seeking to provide special education services to publicly fund eligible students. • Ensures that eligible Massachusetts students receive special education services designed to develop the student’s individual educational potential in the least restrictive environment in accordance with applicable state and federal laws. The purpose of this regulation is to establish standards related to the competency determination. Key points: • Beginning with the Class of 2010, students must meet or exceed the A recent ballot initiative passed which will eliminate the MCAS as a graduation requirement (November 2024). The purpose of this regulation is to ensure that every school committee has a system to enhance the professionalism and accountability of teachers and administrators that will enable them to assist all students to perform at high levels. The annual budget is the financial expression of the educational program of the School Committee and reflects the vision of the district as well as the problems and difficulties that confront it. Throughout the budget planning and approval process, the district will engage in thorough advance planning, with staff and community involvement, in order to develop budgets and guide expenditures in a manner that will achieve the educational goals and objectives of the district. The first priority in the development of an annual budget will be the educational success of the children in our schools.
