Correspondence Course Two The Life and Teachings of Our Lord

By R. A. TORREY, Dean of the Institute

This course p resents a thorough study of the life and teachings of our Lord as recorded in the four Gospels. It con sists of 140 studi es. These studies cove r practically every ve rse in the four Gospels, though in many of the studies several account s are included in a single study. Each lesson presents a passage from Scripture, with the parallel passages from the other Gospels. The passage is out lined in its nat ural divisions, and a series of questi ons demand ing thought and study is given upon each division. Then, at the close of the whole le sson, the teachings of the whole passage are classified; as, for example, "Teachings about Jesus Christ," "About the New Birth," etc. The error of errors has been to seek truth concerning our Lord J esus Chri st from men and thu s many heres ies built on fal se conceptions of Hi s person and mission ha ve been evolved. This course drives the student to the words and work of the Master Himself and hence is especially of value to the young Christian, furni shing him a firm Gospel foundation and put ting be fo re him the great example of true se rvice. The studies throw a light upon the whole Bible that it is important for every Chri sti an to receive. At the end of each twenty lessons a se ries of questions on the whole section is sent to the student to be answered and returned . If these answers are satisfactory, the studen t is allowed to take up the next secti on. This method is followed until the entire 140 lessons ( seven sections ) are concluded. The course is an admirable one for use in advanced classes in Sunday Schools, and for adult classes , etc. Enrollment Fee fo r the Cour se, Five Dollars.
