The Spanish Work A competent, consecrated wo rker, with a real love fo r the Spani sh peopl e, is ma intained to labor among the Spani sh­ speaking people of the city and surrounding towns including the many camps composed of Mexican laborers. The work consis ts of personal interviews, with Bible classes and Gospel meetings where possible, as a result of which very many have been brought out of darkness into th e glorious light of the Gospel of Chri st. The Oil Fields T he Oil F ields of Cali fo rnia are very extensive and little organi zed Chri stianity is there to minister to th e men and families of these regions. We have kept men, peculiarly adapted to such ministry, acti vely engaged on the field for yea rs, with good success. The Shop Work In the shops, factories , car ba rn s and fire engine houses, hundreds of men are found whose circumstances form an al ­ most insurmountable barr ier to their a ttendance upon regular church se rvi ces, and among these our evangelists hold Gospel meet ings on week-days an d press the claims of the Lord J esus Chri st upon men, many of whom become Chri stians of the sturdi es t type. Sh ips hailing from South America, Mexico, Europe, Asia, China, Japan, Australi a and the islands of the sea, with crews, immigrants, trave lers of all races, pass to and fro from all parts of the globe. Recognizing thi s great opportunity and responsibility, we have entered on the task of evangelizing this cosmopolitan
