BIBLE INSTITUTE

Institute to do at least one year of this work. It far more than doubles the va lue of the two years' course at Changsha, and the mission that makes the addi ti onal sacr ifice and permits the student to remain with us for the extra year, however much they may be pressed for help , will be richly rewarded. As soon as a stud ent gradua tes from the Bible School and begins work in one of the Biola Evangeli stic Band s, he is paid a reasonable salary, and so is no longer dependent on hi s mis sion for the daily needs either of himself or his family. The Hunan Autumn Bible School Thi s is situated at the foot of the mountain of Nan Yoh -one of the fi ve sacred mountains of China-to which thou sands of pilgrims journey every yea r. S ix buildings have been erected with accommodations for over 400 Chinese delegates, for Mr. H siao who is in charge of the property, and fo r the speakers. Last yea r about 400 clele g·ates were in attendance, rep resenting twelve or fifteen mi ss ions, or denomi nat ions, and co rning from twelve provinces. Three weeks are spent in Bibl e study, prayer and conf erence, and in personal work among the pilgrims when they are returning from the mountain after having performed their devotions, who readily accept the literature, which is prepared with g rea t care for thi s pu r pose, and many are the conversions resulting from this work.
