Bible Synthesis T he Synthetic method of Bible stu dy aims to provide the student with the following: First: A comprehen sive g rasp of the general contents of the entire Bible so that the main feat ures of its revelation may be seen and ucderstood. Second: A bringing together and summing up of the general contents so that the mutual relat ionships and harmony of the component parts a re recogn ized . Third: A recogniti on of the progress ive cha racte r and deve lopment of the di-vine reYelati on as set fort h in the Sc ri p­ tures. Fourth: A knowledge of the di spensat ional teachi ng of the ·word of God. The Synthetic method pursued by the class ;n this study is the r eading beforehand of an appo inted number of chapters in a book of the Bible ; indeed . at times . a whole book is read at one s1tt111g. The main ecti ons of the book are then taken up and cons idered , and finally the teaching of the book is presented in unified form.
