THE

ANGELES

BIBLE INSTITUTE OF LOS

We have opened a hall on the water front and have put in charge a thoroughly experienced mission man, and think this will be one of the best opportunities we have ever had to reach large numbers of men . The Extension Work The Institute has been able to do a large work in its Evan gelistic Department through its own evangelists, and special Bible teachers. Work has been carried on in all sections of the Coast States. We are expecting to greatly increase the efficiency of this service by the addition of capable men and women to our force as the Lord shall supply the means. Our resident worker in San Francisco has held classes in many of the surrounding cities and towns, and has been greatly used in ministering to the men in San Quentin and Folsom Peniten tiaries, where large classes of men gather on Saturday after noons, giving the study of the Word preference to out-of-door recreation. The Fishermen's Club On Monday evening, Apri l 16, 1906, a little group of seventeen young men gathered together to study the Bible, and to engage in personal work. Under the leadership of Rev. T. C. Horton a systematic and inspirational study of the Bible was begun. A few months passed and the class grew in numbers, until in the summer of 1906 it was organized under the name of the "Fishermen's Club," ( See Matthew 4 :19) and now has a membership of 150. The class has continued meeting each Monday evening without a single interruption from that day until now. There has been strict adherence to the principle of striving for a single object, viz., the study of God's Word, and the doing of active, aggressive personal work for the Lord Jesus Christ. In these ten years, 100 men have gone out from the Club into definite Christian work. Eigh teen are missionaries in foreign fields, under the various evangelical denominations, -one a medical missionary. They are in China, Japan, Africa and South America. Eight are occupying pastorates, and six teen are in theological schools prepar ing for the ministry. Fifteen or more have volunteered for foreign missions, and
